I am sure this has been brought up at some point... but I drive my mustang at Utah Motorsport (formerly Miller Motorsport) and need a shock/strut set up on my 2011 mustang GT that requires minor adjustments due to the lack of free time I have to spend on these adjustments. 5 kids and my wife make it so when I head to the track I need to jus my drive and not spend too much time making adjustments. Current upgrades are headers, catted x pipe, k&n intake, Bilstein B6 shocks, frpp k springs and dyno tuned to 434 rwhp. Any help is much appreciated.

Koni Sport (yellow) struts & shocks are adjustable from the top on the strut towers and via the trunk (just under the carpet). Takes about 30 seconds per corner to go anywhee from full soft to full stiff.

You will want to ask this in the S197 section. This is the S550 section.

Thank you! I am supposed to take this question to the S550 section. But I have no idea where that is. How do the KONI shocks compare to the Bilstein that I have?

I moved it for you - no worries.

It's been brought to my attention that on a mobile device it could be easy to miss which section you're posting it in since the breadcrumb gets shortened. I'll have to put some more thought into how the forums are organized - thread prefixes might actually be a better solution, rather than having a separate "handling" sub-forum for each platform (maybe not, but I'll put some thought into it).

I've never had the Bilsteins but my understanding is that the Konis are similar to them in their full or close to full soft settings. This is similar to how the Koni Sport (yellow) adjustables compare to their Koni SRT (orange) non-adjustable. Perhaps someone else on the forum with experience with both Bilsteins and Konis can provide more insight.

Since your original post indicated you wanted quick and minor adjustability, the advantage with the Koni Yellows is that when you go to the track you can easily dial them up to much stiffer rebound and this helps control body roll (especially in the shorter/quicker) turns a bit more.

Redstang75,

There is a group of us running the S197 platform at UMC. We would love to talk about setup and the things you can do to meet the goals of your car. Some of us have gone a bit over the top, but we all went through the streetable/trackable configurations along the way!

Come over and introduce yourself. We will be in the West Day Garage 15 at the September NASA Event. I will send you some contact info in a private conversation here so if you are driving the WOW and Open track days we can help you out online.

I do have to say that blacksheep-1 is right on when it comes to a daily drivable kit that requires little fiddling when doing some track time. I was able to complete my first 2 years of HPDE on the FRPP suspension. Get the adjustable ones and you can go soft for the street, and stiffen it up for the track. Your Bilsteins may be comparable, but I am not familiar enough with them to know.
