Dang , I am going to have to stop suggesting folks contact you for Brake Pads since it is obvious you have a limited selection, ha,ha! Impressive and I think this post will answer a lot of questions about where to go for an almost infinite variety of track brake pads.

Completely agree on the G-Locs and Carbotechs, I always have my R18s pre-bedded!

What is the conventional wisdom on rear brake compund vs. front brake compound on the S550? Is it same pad all 4 corners or less pad in rear than front like Carbo xp 20 front and xp12 rear?

Never been accused of having wisdom, but I do subscribe to the "less pad in the rear" school of thought. It works for me anyway!

Totally agree JDee, and have been suggested that school of thought on Mustangs for Decades. I run a G-Loc R18 on front and a R10 on the rear and I know the Engineers from the Land of the Blue Oval have always recommended a less aggressive pad at the rear when they show up for the Mustang Roundup in Hastings, Ne. each September ( www.racemph.com ). That has always been good enough advice for me!

Do you carry pads for the Alcon calipers on my 2002 Roush? I can get you the part number for the Hawk pads I'm using if you need to cross reference. I think I need something in the Gloc R12 or R14 range? Maybe?

Why havent you switched to pagids lol
Ha. The Raybestos pads have been truly awesome. Last for days and tons of stopping power. Haven't seen the Pagid's in person yet, so haven't really had a reason to change.

ufff. You really need to try the pagids. They are miles ahead of raybestos and easier on the rotors.

How do Pagids compare to Hawks DTC70's? The hawks DTC70's were my "go to" pad for TT, they helped me get several tenths of a second faster than I was with the Carbotech XP20's around Road Atlanta at the time.
It depends on what Pagid pads you are referring to as they make many different compounds. Usually the Pagids seem to have more life but can be quite a bit more in price. I run the Hawks on my American Iron car and they have worked great.

Thanks for the response Coby and cool you listed your email and phone number. Best part of your answer is to know that your run in American Iron , so we are getting answers from a fellow TrackRat and not just someone who puts in time at a automotive business.

@KNS Brakes do you guys have ST47s in stock for a gt350? I’ve had some trouble locating Raybestos pads lately
Raybestos pads have been very hard to come by for everyone since moving their production to Mexico. A lot of these pad shapes are actually cut by Porterfield and they can't be made because they can't get the materials they need from Raybestos. We have purchase orders in for almost a year to give you an idea of timing with Raybestos. So we either have them or we don't. If you every need to do an inventory check feel free to email me any time at [email protected] .
Cheers,
Coby

Not a fan of the Raybestos pads and production issues are just part of the reason. The good thing about having KNS on here is Coby can obviously tell you his personal choices on pads and being aware of the ones that have production or supply delays is often important to know if hitting the tracks often. I have been running G-Locs ( as an example ) because they are reasonably priced , easy on the rotors ( I even use their most aggressive pad on the front ) and made right in Nascar country --- Mooresville, NC.

Regardless of what folks like, having an in on what products are often in short supply or seem to be slow in production can be an additional tool to decide on your purchase.

Its all about that personal touch.
