Welp, we have officially arrived in California. We are searching for a house to ship the Mustang to...I mean to live in...at the moment. Good times.
What area are you looking in?

With you being in the Palmdale area Willow Springs is right there! There are always track days there. Hopefully we'll run into one another at the SoCal tracks.
Don, I cannot wait to hit Willow Springs again. I'll be a frequent flyer there so I'm sure we'll run into each other!

As an aside, if anyone needs a place to crash in the area, my house will always be open to fellow TMOers.

Car is being delivered next week. Just ordered a Cortex torque arm, wheel spacers and LCAs. If you all can't tell by this thread, I'm all over the place but finally decided to go for broke and bring it all in line with Cortex stuff, so I'll have some new and used stuff I'll need to put up for sale too. Thinking of having a Torsen T2R and 3.73 gears installed at the same time as the torque arm.

I just completed swapping the old clunky driveshaft to the new Ford Racing one piece unit. Just wanted to post a quick after action report in case somebody stumbles across this on Google or whatever:

The instructions work. I ended up using the installation video from American Muscle here (sorry for linking to them, but the video was helpful).

Make sure you put the flange bolts in before you maneuver the driveshaft into place. You will not be able to fit them otherwise. The instructions say this. Don't ignore them.

You absolutely need an 8mm extended length ball end hex bit. The pinion end attaches using four allen bolts and there is so little clearance, this tool will make short work of these.

If they don’t have the torsen a tru track will do nicely.

I'm good with any of them, honestly. Just figured I'd go with that one since it's what the "hero card" for the FR500 specified. I'm not good enough to know the difference.

The shop seems really good. I spent an hour on the phone with the owner, but I'm not sure I'm his target demographic (big money builds, but I'm just a dude with a car). If I don't hear back this week I'm going to branch out.

I went in for the torsen also but they couldn’t get one in time so I ended up with the tru track. Seems to work just fine and after reading about how much Billy Johnson likes them I feel even better about the purchase. Every race car I’ve had before this had a spool so these fancy rear ends are new to me.

Cortex torque arm and LCAs installed. Took a drive down a back road and the most noticeable differences are that squat, dive, and in-cabin noise are reduced. Nothing scientific. First track day with it are on the 26th. The torque arm will be the only change from a handling perspective so we'll see.

Since I'm not really getting any hits on my ad, I am looking for OEM exhaust pipes for my generation Mustang. Just the pipes, not the mufflers or anything else. If anyone has them laying around, please let me know, though I suspect a lot of people toss them like I did.
