If you have access to a 4 post lift, you can just lift the car off the subframe, and leave the engine on the floor/pallet/ whatever. That's the best way, other than that a coordinated team on a couple of floor jacks will do it. Take lots of pictures with your cell phone.
Going to make a 3 foot high table with castors for engine to sit on. I didn’t expect to use my lift for this so soon.. If this was a pre 80’s Mustang the engine would have been out in 2 hours or less. I miss those days lol

I prefer to leave the knuckles/hubs/rotors on the car. They're an absolute pain on the ground connected to the k-member.

Here's a video I did about dropping my engine (warning: not in an info format, more of an episode since it was tied to a series I did). But it'll show how I do it. I've since upgraded to a cart to roll it around, but the idea is the same.

I found out after disconnecting all the wires from the engine and transmission all’s I had to do was remove the wire bundle to the fuse box and battery. I built my stand tall so I don’t need to crawl around on my back. Thanks for the video it was helpful…

Jealous of you guys and your lifts. It wasn't nearly as fun yanking engine and trans with a cherry picker thanks to the long trans.

Johnny yes I have BUT my car is a 16 PP car it had better suspension then a stock GT. I added BMR sway bars BMR cradle brace Eibach springs (want to change to Ford springs) rear adjustable camber link. And of course caster camber plates. I have other stuff can’t think of the now.. How was it taken engine from the top? I know now that the engine Will be all wired and radiator will go in at same time.

Why do they call it an oil pickup tube when it clearly picks up chunks of metal?

I think it filled up when I turned engine upside down to remove the oil pan..
My friend who's Business is building race engines said the failure was from no oil/pressure. Next is take oil pump apart.
Yep, looks like the rod bearing went south.. I'm not sure in these engines if the crank oils from an end, or the middle, probably the end, you should be able to chase the path of destruction down to the oil galley in the block, the most damage should be the farthest away from the pump, not that it really matters at this juncture.
