Background & Plans
The car itself was built in Milwaukee, WI between 2013-2014 by the owner of the largest Harley Davidson Dealer in WI, then sold to an older Corvette Racer in Boston MA who gifted it to his wife who in turn never raced it, in total the car was tracked between 7-9 times based upon my conversations with both owners prior to my purchase. The car came to me Torch Red with white stripes & numbered 650. I have since then had the stripes redone in satin black and renumbered 31 after by Dad’s birth year. I waited an entire year to upgrade/repair to make the car a creation of my vision. Each time it needed something I built it not only to compete but as bulletproof as possible. After a very rough outing in Salt Lake City I was ready to tie a nickel to it, throw it over a cliff just to tell people I lost something. During the long drive home, I was pissed and seething but alas I decided to get more involved in the car, learn it, understand it, turn a wrench and quit making my shop reach its sales goals. I am just about finished making a few mechanical changes, rebuilt or replaced the entire front braking system and can’t wait to get to a track day to test out my lengthy research and my painstaking OCD labor. Me personally I am a licensed SVRA member that is also is a member of the SCCA. My plan when I got into this hobby was one race per quarter at a minimum, up to six races per year based upon location and my availability because this isn’t my only hobby. As a stage four liver cancer survivor I don’t know how long or how far this hobby will take me but after these past few months of mechanician I am reenergized about getting to events, compete and meet like minded folk while continuing the learning experience both on the track and in my workshop.
