If you want a tell-tale to determine if a bolt or nut has loosened or wasn't tight enough... Take a paint pen, draw a around the bolt head and/or nut and put a timing mark from the nut or bolt flat to the bracket. The circle tells you if the attachment joint slipped in the hole - not tight...
One more vote for LRM's table being wrong. My 2007 GT came with a 20mm rear bar, I swapped for a 22mm. Unfortunately, the car and bar is gone.My 213 GT base came with a 24mm rear bar.... it is sitting in my garage, just measured it.If there is a good junkyard near you with more than a few...
I have payed around with adding E85 to the 93 I always run with a 93 octane tune in the 5.0. Mixed to about E15, no issues, E20-25, no issues and E30-35, again no issues. My Butt Dyno did feel a difference running E30. Fuel mileage decreased and the Long Term Fuel Trims got a bit on the high...
My Saturn on stock springs (well, sort-a stock) sat down on its bump stops through turn 12 at speed. Quite a rush when you've done enough right to carry big speed through 12.I really need to go back with the Mustang!
I usually pressure bleed my '13 whenever opening up the system or changing fluid. There are pressure bleeders available for less than $100 but...I kluged up a spare brake reservoir cap with an air fitting so I can push about 7 psi into the reservoir. You have to refill after every corner...
Well, yes, I am up there in age!... I took my first SCCA competition school there in 1993. My home state was Ohio so we'd run down to R-A in the early spring before our local race season got into full swing.Since I was racing a Saturn Coupe in Showroom Stock B, the top speed was only about 115...
Just the tracks I've driven at speed...Nurburgring - the Nordschlieffe

Nelson Ledges
Road Atlanta - the old course with the Dip
Putnam Park
Indianapolis Raceway Park
Grattan

Seems very counter-intuitive that torque convertor lockup would INCREASE trans temps. The pump on an automatic runs all the time the engine is running and should always circulate the fluid through the cooler. Additionally, lockup should reduce heat created because you aren't trying to shear the...
My car is the second S197 I've owned upgraded to Brembos on the front. That earlier car was a 4.6 liter 5 speed. No issues with hard pedal on that one either. If switching to manual brakes solves it, then the vacuum booster and how much vacuum the engine creates would be under where I'd look...
My car is very similar to Coz's from a chassis development perspective. My engine is just running a tune but otherwise stock. I have 4 piston Brembo 14 inch fronts (2 piece Wilwood rotors) and the 13.8 rears with the single piston caliper. I am running Hawk DTC 30's on the front and Hawk HPS or...
I'm going to the Rolex 24 for the first time. Not the first IMSA race by any means. Sad to see no Ford GTs there but agree with JDee completely. Running those cars as a privateer would be a great money drain. Heck, Porsche developed a mid-engine 911 JUST to be competitive with the Ford GT and...
Agree the rear jounce bumpers need to be cut especially if the rear "sproings" back after a bump that causes the rear end to sit down. Cut off the convolutions one at a time to test it. Cut it with a sharp utility knife or even a hacksaw. The front's should be done as well but they are a little...
Good luck with the project car! I have not used any of the east coast shops. I do nearly all my own work and my tunes came from Bama for my nearly stock engine. I ran Sebring with the 3.55 rear geared manual and it fit the track pretty well although I needed 2nd to pull the hairpin. Maybe 3.73's...
I had a 2007 4.6 that I tracked. Never overheated. Nothing. My engine had a tune and a cold air kit but nothing else. I popped the plugs out - the 2 piece ones - with an impact gun at 60K miles with the engine warm. I did this after after a soak with Seafoam. Plugs came right out with no issues...
