    2011 V6 6-Speed Mustang for Endurance Racing

We did find and buy the aluminum 1-piece driveshaft. Not a cheap upgrade, but we thought it was mandatory for safety. Lethal Performance is where we got ours, I think...maybe a Dynotech brand? We did use some of the V6 PP stuff...Shelby rear control arms, 3.31:1 gears, and front strut tower...

    S197 2011 Mustang V6 - Champ Car

Yessir, I remember you, we came over and talked to you and some other team members while waiting in that insane Tech line. That was our first race in this car.Blew up two clutches, a Ram Powergrip and then the cheap AutoZone one we threw in in the paddock. Only got about 5 hours of track time...

    SN95 Budget Rear Suspension

Offhand, with the PM3L, I think a 392 lb/in spring in the stock location would be ok with something like an 850 lb/in in the stock front location. You can fine-tune with sway bars somewhat from there, but you do want to get close on the spring rate match front to rear. You didn’t say what the...

    SN95 Budget Rear Suspension

If I were in your shoes, I would spend the money on the PHB (but I'm not a fab guy), some good LCAs, and good shocks. You can remove one upper link to do the PM3L. Then be prepared to change the rear spring rate to suit the change in roll center. When I (briefly) ran the PM3L after installing a...

    S197 Clutch Assistance (2011 Mustang V6 with MT82)

First off, I apologize for the length of this. But I want you to have all of the relevant information.A couple months back, I purchased a RAM 98955 kit for a 2011 Mustang V6. The car is being used for endurance racing (Champ Car). Our first event was at Daytona a couple weekends back.I...

Use S550 front hubs to replace busted S197's (cheaper and better)

Reviving this old thread to see how this has aged...is the S550 hub lasting longer for you in terms of bearings themselves?I ask because I know 14mm would be better on the studs, stronger than the 1/2-20 on the S197, but I'd probably be knocking them out and using 1/2-20 ARP studs with a .625...

    Ford CEO racing at Daytona

Yep, I do both. Just can't do only water. AutoCross two days a month gave me opportunities to test what worked early on. Driving hard, then running around to spray tires, check pressures, then walk to the middle of the airstrip to chase after cones is tough (especially in the June-August...

    Ford CEO racing at Daytona

Yessir, 2011 with the 3.7.Yes, that's been on my mind. I usually take snack bars and loads of Gatorade/Powerade and other stuff with electrolytes to the track with me. A big ice chest full. If I drink straight water all day, doesn't matter how much, I'm dehydrated and my muscles are on fire...

    Ford CEO racing at Daytona

No sir, we're in Class C. My complaint about the heat was a little thoughtless, I guess. My power steering complains at 8.5* caster and big tires, buuuut at least I have it!That's what we've been discussing. From where we're starting at, I'm really not sure how this car will do. We're 5 laps...

    Ford CEO racing at Daytona

That sucks. We are really looking forward to this one, hopefully we get a good outing. This is our first go at endurance racing, so we're not really sure what to expect on driver's stints and things. We have a lot of prep work still to do, including the roll cage (it should be going in over the...

    Ford CEO racing at Daytona

Based on our Opps Research, the fastest cars at ChampCar last couple of years were running 2:15-2:20.Good lookin car. We're taking a much less beautiful 2011 Mustang V6. Cheap and functional, we will see how it does.

    2011 V6 6-Speed Mustang for Endurance Racing

Yes, that's the case here. Except 05-09 GTs can run with us, 2010+ GTs can't (yet anyway). That is also correct. They do have that in there.
