Hmm, not sure that’s accurate. I think the fan relays are in the fuse box for all years. Common modification is to bypass the factory relays and install external fan relays. The stock relays, contacts, wiring, and fan connector are known failure points for the S197 and the circuit is often...
To add another data point, I’ve had an antigravity in my early S197 for two years now, and the battery was used and already had a couple of years of use when I bought it on TMO from someone. It’s been a great battery. It seems the charging systems from 2011 and beyond have issues with these...
https://motoiq.com/silicone-radiator-hoses-not-for-the-street/Nice article to read through. The short of it is, silicone hoses sweat more water over time than your normal EPDM rubber hoses. Checking/worrying about coolant levels and concentration of water vs coolant is not worth the...
Here we go, it was @Tri-barhttps://trackmustangsonline.com/threads/abs.17763/If you do the swap, please chronicle it and post any learnings/tips/pointers for the community.
There is a thread out there for this. From the thread, I gathered that the 11-14 ABS can be installed stand-alone. You will need the restraints control module (RCM) since it has the yaw sensor. Hopefully the person who created the thread sees this and chimes in.
I have a 2008 with this same upgrade with no issues. Countless others have done the same. Just have to start poking around and identify the problem.Start with the sensors and wiring. Make sure the tips of the wheel speed sensors aren’t caked with ferrous dust from pad/disc material. Clean them...
Don’t have any input of value here, but I have a Moroso 20548 sitting on the workbench waiting to go on. I originally wanted an aluminum pan but no one seems to make/stock them. At least they didn’t earlier this year when I sourced the pan.I’m not doing anything regarding aftermarket windage...
Well…looks like I stand absolutely corrected, ha! I’m curious now.@TA28 thanks for posting this up@SMGDHG if you go this route let us know how it turns out, or we will cross paths up here at a track day sooner or later.
I don’t think you’ll be able to find them anymore. Long discontinued. Another option to ponder is converting to 11-14 ABS. I have heard it can be done on our 05-09 cars. Likely results in a Christmas tree dash, but if it’s a track only car you may not mind. Plus if you convert, you can then swap...
Another question for the ABS discussion for us 05-09 guys. Is there value in swapping to an 11-14 ABS module? The lines are probably in the same configuration, and you’d probably need to compare the pin out of the 05-09 connector and the 11-14 connector and repin as needed but I imagine it’s...
This Mustang was my first ever car, so it has tremendous sentimental value to me. This Build Thread will serve as a journal of sorts for me to keep history of the car.Purchased new in 2007, it got me through high school, college, and moved me across the country coast to coast three times now...
