Which tire for an HPDE Mustang.

Hi All: Since this is an HPDE tire thread, I figured I throw out a tire/wheel issue I've been struggling with for about a year and half. I'll set the seen for my 2017 GT Performance Pack's suspension which is stock except for the following: Vorshlag Custom Spec Offset ForgeStar F-14 wheels, 11"...

Diameter I don't think is as important as width. If you check out Terry Fair's Vorshlag site, he has both S197 and S550 project cars as well as suspension upgrades for both. I purchased most of my suspension parts from his company. Springs were from Steeda. I went from the stock 19" PP1...

S197 My budget track 5.0 GT

As Bill mentioned, wider wheels and some good track tires are the best investment. Then I found camber plates, stiffer springs and any way that you can improve cooling of the brakes an additional good investment.

Welcome! I used to have a 1979 Capri similar to yours in silver that I also used to autocross.

    S550 Our GT

Bill, I've been focused on Pittsburgh International Race Complex, (Pitt Race) only. My first instructor at HOD and I agreed that my plan of learning one track well, and then working on "improving" my skillset would be the way to go. Since Pitt Race is 30 minutes from home, and is quite a...

Vorshlag Gen2 Coyote Swap in 2010 Spec Iron Mustang -> American Iron

Anyone have an opinion or experience with the mounting position of remote engine oil coolers? It seems that the radiator mounted systems are popular but recently I came across the Harrop engine oil cooler kit which appears to mount under the front splitter and out of the radiator air stream...

    S550 2019 GT

I think maybe the springs could be a factor. Maybe I should have gone with something stiffer, although, the Steeda's along with the lower profile tire provide a fairly stiff ride. There was a suggestion made at one point that I could have gone with GT 350R springs which I was told are about as...

    S550 2019 GT

Yes, I have basically the same setup except for Steeda Sport lowering springs. The Steeda springs lower the car a bit more than an inch in the front and an inch in the rear. I did get some fender rub with mine looking the same as yours with some "poke". I had about negative 2.7 on the front...
