That's what Ford targeted for the latest GT, until the demand got so high, they built more. I think that Ford knows what it is doing with the GTD build/sales numbers. My guess, it should sell in similar fashion to the latest GT.
Bill, yes, I forgot to mention Vorshlag's strut tower opening tool. I did have a local performance shop do the entire install for me, and the owner racers a S197 and asked to purchase the tool from me, to which I gladly obliged. I'm running about 2.9 negative and the extra opening increase...
Biggsy, lookin great! I love following your progress. Unless I missed it...you haven't mentioned any cooling upgrades like a rear diff, or a remote engine oil cooler. No issues with diff temp so far? Just curious.
Biggsy, I don't want to add to parts list $$$, but Vorshlag Camber Plates really make camber adjustments easy, and they're bullet proof. I do have an alignment shop readjust my toe settings after a change, but you may want to check them out in the future.
Bill, I think you're dead on in your analysis. Change is inevitable. Many don't like it...it's human nature. Change is also unpredictable. There are too many unforeseen variables. We can get a glimpse of what direction(s) it may take as the years go by, but what evolving combination of energy...
Bill, I think you touched on the different way in which each generation experiences the world. I can recall a brief, contentious conversation I had many years ago when my son who blurted out during a discussion about driving skill, that with all the time he was spending on his racing video...
Yes, it was definitely a fun day out at Pitt Race. Whether was nice if a bit on the warm side...but no rain as they'd been predicting earlier in the week.
Hi All:
Since this is an HPDE tire thread, I figured I throw out a tire/wheel issue I've been struggling with for about a year and half. I'll set the seen for my 2017 GT Performance Pack's suspension which is stock except for the following: Vorshlag Custom Spec Offset ForgeStar F-14 wheels, 11"...
Diameter I don't think is as important as width. If you check out Terry Fair's Vorshlag site, he has both S197 and S550 project cars as well as suspension upgrades for both. I purchased most of my suspension parts from his company. Springs were from Steeda. I went from the stock 19" PP1...
As Bill mentioned, wider wheels and some good track tires are the best investment. Then I found camber plates, stiffer springs and any way that you can improve cooling of the brakes an additional good investment.
