Haha. I have a couple of loops right from my house that are pretty fun to drive but I lay pretty low except for a couple of pulls and fun S turns.I went from a hood with Track Spec Louvers but it was beat up from the original owner so I got this one. It actually has less venting than my old...
Added a new hood. Added NRG Hub and QR along with an OMP wheel. Added Quick Latch Front Fender Pins. Took her out for a little central NJ backroads drive. Waiting on AJ Wing (in production)
I purchased the car with the rear seats already deleted and a harness bar installed (which is coming out). I also purchased it knowing it was nowhere near a daily driver. I am lucky in that I pull out of my garage and can go for a 30-45 minute drive with the car all basically all on county...
Wow - really appreciate the honesty and humility of everyone. This forum really does have a good group of people unlike some of the other ones I’ve been on. I agree with basically all the sentiments. One thing I forgot to mention is I never started this endeavor to have a car I can’t take out...
It has front plates I just don't know the brand. Right now we are at -2.4 front camber with 6.7 caster and 0.04 toe and -1.9 rear camber 0.12 toe. I'm fortunate to have a good alignment shop nearby run by a former racer and he knows Mustangs. It's really just the suspension I need to...
That's a great thread. I need to spend more time on this forum. Yes the suspension is a priority but I'm waiting to be able to do it right so need to save some funds for that purchase - hopefully this fall. So far at my skill level they keep me planted well enough.Actually reminds me of...
Good to know. I'm still very fit. Surf, Downhill Mountain Bike, Weight Train, etc... so that's good to know. My friend did say "You'll be racing before you know it"And the reason I went with an S550 is because of everything people told me and I researched about the platform being very...
I'm sure this is a much discussed topic but I purchased a used 2015 S550 that had been modified (some good work and parts and some not-so-good work and parts) and I've spent a considerable amount of time and money (not the issue) getting the car sorted out for the track and have 180 minutes of...
Well the tramlining was an "easy" fix as it was a loose control arm bolt that had backed out and seized so had to be heat soaked off and then replaced. Kinda hairy. Makes sense that the torque of turning snugged it into place and then higher speeds on the straights it wobbled.Ended up going...
This is basically what Steeda said. Also said that since I didn't use a shop that can high speed balance the tires they could be a bit wobbly at speed.I finally found a really good article on the topic and it did say that a bad combo of aggressive front camber with not enough caster to match...
The car as it sits now with the Conti tires front 265/35 R18 rear 285/35 R18 is sitting 1/4" (.25") positive rake with a front tire that is .3" lower at the axle. The car also has a set of matched squared toyo r888r that I have yet to put on it but now that's an issue since if I play with ride...
Yeah that brings me back full circle and do I even bother with the alignment I have scheduled for 3/24 and just track the car as is on 4/21. The car handles great it's just this high speed issue. But I did call Steeda and they were the first ones to say high speed balance the tires and get an...
