The Horse had lots of power during the Solo Nationals and though I took some shots I did miss the presentations for some of our other members who won trophies other than Dave Whitworth and Emery Seaton. My son and I ran Thursday and Friday, while F Street, with plenty of Blue Oval Representation was run Tuesday and Wednesday of this past week. I thought everyone would like to see a few pics of Big Dave W. and his rolling SPS ( solo performance.com ) Store, along with his multi- flexible CAMC Mustang, er, C Prepared Mustang --- one never knows what Class this Black Beauty will be running? Can't forget to post a photo of him at the Trophy Presentation getting his recognition of a top placing in this extremely competitive Class.

We can't forget a shot of Emery Seaton, TMO member and CAMT National Champion, along with some shots of the multitude of Mustangs who massed at the Nationals site. Apologies to my good friend and long time fellow Autocrosser, Brian Meyer, who secured his first trophy at the Solo Nationals with a 5th Place trophy in the gigantic F Street Class. Sorry, Brian, I missed your trophy presentation, but so cool you ran so well in your GT 350!!

And, as another Dad who got to run with his son ( Ryan happened to get 2nd in ASP ) we really need a shot of Emery's Dad, Brent, who was the best tire warmer of the Event ! His skill getting those black rubber donuts heated up secured his son with a National Championship and he was fast, ending up the very first car just out of the trophies. Way to go Dad!

No way that is Brian Meyers first Nats trophy?

Congrats to all who competed and trophied.

It was not a great year on the home front, so I will let my wife's recap explain all:

Home from 2022 Nationals and here’s my recap:
My first goal was to just get there. We left for Nationals 1 week after I completed my radiation treatments and attending had been up in the air since I was diagnosed in April. Goal 12705.png .
My second goal was to take at least one run in the car. I hadn’t been in the car at all since Spring Nats and wasn’t even sure I would be able to get in comfortably let alone race. I was originally supposed to run in a 5 woman CPL class, but due to illness and college-ing the class was left with only 2 of us so I opted to move to CP open which ran in a cool 1st heat on Tuesday and Wednesday. Dave made some needed adjustments to our “baby seat” insert and I was able to get in and out of the car without much trouble. The Tuesday east course was ridiculously long for a first drive since surgery but I took all 3 runs, took time off on every run and was 19th after day one. I was happy with that outcome, but exhausted!
Goal 22705.png .
Goal 3 was to not come in last. I have been coming to Nationals every year since 1998 and have come in last plenty of times and only trophied once. This sport isn’t easy and even harder after an emotionally and physically draining cancer treatment, but I still wanted to drive well and be competitive!1f60a.png Day 2 I was able to take all 3 runs again and drop time on every run. Thank goodness it was a shorter course because the exhaustion was real. I finished 21st out of 29!
Goal 32705.png .
While I was happy to have achieved those goals, nothing compares to the happiness of being by Dave Whitworth’s side while he ran Thursday and Friday! He drove in CAMC and was 3rd after day 1 and finished with a 6th place trophy! Doubtful this was even on his goals list since he spent the last 5 months taking care of me, focusing on me and worrying about me. He had less seat time leading up to Nationals then usual and lots on his mind. So proud of his results and grateful to have this man in my life!2764.png
Thanks to Sonya Ver Mulm for keeping me “hydrated” and Ron Ver Mulm for all your help! So glad Samantha Whitworth got to hang out with us over the weekend. Always love to see my baby girl! And all the friends and racers that contributed to #pedalthecause in support of our #cancercuringcar, you are appreciated! We raised over $800 toward cancer research! Thank you!

2022 F-Street and F-Street Ladies National Champions and my co-driver was 7th out of the 11 trophy spots (39 in open class). I also was 2nd in the ProSolo Finale but won the year long championship. In the same car, nothing changed, ran straight up F-street setup.

Falken was paying, and while I had some A052's they were older and it was going to be hot (and it was miserably so), which didn't make me think that was the way to go. 305's all around on BC Forged wheels. Koni Sport front struts, Penske 7500 rear shocks I commissioned and setup. A rear sway bar, and front brake pad change, were all the performance mods the car has.

I agree , DaveW, I was shocked when Brian Meyer told me it was his first trophy at the Solo Nationals, as we have both been running with him in the Midwest and he often does so well at Divisionals , etc. Talented guy, and it won't be his last , but he was stoked to have finally gotten some merchandise from the big Event!

Thanks for posting Liz's comments as it shows what a Winner you truly are, and you know you are blessed to have such a wonderful wife, partner, business associate and friend! There were a lot of folks smiling at the Event to hear she had finished radiation, was doing well, and was going to compete. She was so pleased to be there with you and unlike the rest who stood on the Podium, you got to go back to your " Trophy Girl!!"

Thanks for jumping on here Sam, and I am pretty sure my son got 2nd Place in ASP because he had hardware from your shop along with a bigass Stranoparts.com decal on his hood. Nice to have the talent of Michael Snyder, you , and Shelly galloping all over the Camaros in one of the nastiest Classes in the Competition. Of course I am pleased to see a Mach 1 in first and you comments will help a lot of guys/gals who are wondering if Falkens are competitive on an autocross track as well as a road racing circuit.

Seriously, glad to have you post here, and I am very confident there are many others like my son and I who have availed of your expertise, products and help. Welcome my friend and I hope to see some of your advice, thoughts, and tech knowledge posted on TMO when you are able?!

Congratulations to everyone who competed at Solo Nats! It can be a daunting experience for newbies, but I've found that the competitors are some of the nicest people you'll ever meet, and helpful, too. If you can make it to Nationals, do it; concentrate on the camaraderie and let the rankings take care of themselves - don't get stressed out by the "big show." Huge kudos to those who trophied, and especially those who won their class.

Last time I was there, they were doing "podium" photos after each heat, but they still handed out the trophies at the Wed./Fri. banquets. Did the banquets bite the dust due to COVID?

Any Banquets were done on site in the huge tents they erect for just that purpose and frankly on Friday after the trophies were given out many folks packed up and started to wander home, so it actually works better. Special Awards were given out Wednesday night and it kept the program short, so whether begun due to Covid or not, it actually works out better than the hours long award ceremonies of the past. Folks hang around for the podium presentations as they do two full heats at the same time and plenty of participants are there to cheer on their friends.

Most hope we keep the set up as it is now, because one can stay on site for everything and there are still plenty of parties that occur right there ---- it almost feels like an automotive Woodstock some nights , haha.

I am not a huge fan of the way they did it Friday with 2 heats going at once. The Wednesday setup with it after each heat is much better. I didn’t dislike the banquets but prefer on site

DaveW is fast, his trophy at Nationals was not his first and frankly having him there to compete against will only make you faster ---plus you can pump him for secrets and help! Always good to have a knowledgeable, fast competitor in your area to help you get a baseline to chase after and gauge your improvement.

Schotz is a talent and I would probably get some flak from my old Motorsports Director and current Woodhouse Bentley Shop and Parts Director , Mark Jorgensen, as he and Dave are super good buds! But, AZ, there were just so many Mustangs out at the Nationals and I was super busy giving everyone I met a business card telling them to check out Trackmustangsonline !!!

Sam spent a lot of time talking down to this Mustang owner, but that was only because he is taller than me. Stranoparts.com is heavily noted on a ton of Mustangs, Mr. Strano actually likes us Blue Oval Busstards!

I don't know why people get so uptight about cars and what other people drive and so on. The fact that matter is I still have a fourth gen camaro. I still have my c7, I had ss 1LEs but gave up on them after GM decided to pretend the little brake problem they have doesn't exist. And when they announce the Mach 1 it appeared to me to be a Mustang version of a 1LE which frankly they hadn't had anything equivalent to. So I was happy to buy one again. And the fact of the matter is I have won championships. I might not have been running one, doesn't mean I don't know how they work. People have short memories, and whatever I happen to be running at the time tends to be what gets the attention. And I have to do my best to try and be well-rounded.

No one is really uptight Sam, just good natured fun here. We have a tendency to joke around if folks drive other makes, even while many of us have other machines in the garage. In your case it is a Business reason too, with all the items you make and supply for so many cars, so quite understandable. You will like it here, folks joke in a silly manner all the time , but not malicious -- that does not last long for anyone on here as no one tolerates or wants that.

Enjoy , glad to have you here and welcome.
