Seperate clutch fluid reservoir

I made a bracket today using two existing cowl holes. I haven't got a reservoir yet as I wanted to make sure the location would work.

I don’t have the fab skills or tools like a lot of you. I can measure, cut and drill 3 holes lol. Will round the edges and paint black next.

If your brake system is ever getting hot enough where your fluid is in any way a concern while on the street, your probably doing it wrong.

But from the perspective of keeping clutch junk out of the brakes hydraulic system, yes it would help keep the brake systems fluid cleaner. But for a street car I can’t see it making a worthwhile difference.

Does anyone know if the 2005-2008 auto brake reservoir is compatible with a 2014 GT? The part number is 7R3Z-2K478-A.

The 13-14 auto brake reservoir is now discontinued, 9R3Z-2K478-B.

Does anyone know if it’s possible to swap the brake reservoir to one from an automatic without doing a full abs brake bleed as I haven’t got forscan

I have all the parts ready for this swap but I would prefer to use a reservoir from an automatic rather then use the rubber blanking plugs.

All I did was remove brake fluid from reservoir swapped to the automatic reservoir with no problems.

You can and my brakes felt fine after, but def best to do an abs bleed after. Good motivation to get Forscan IMO, its so easy to use and opens up a whole new world of possibilities. And for damn near free. Not nearly as difficult to use as I expected either, and I'm a far cry from a tech guy.

Changing the fluid reservoir does not impact the rest of the brake system as long as you do not press the brake pedal while it is off.
