Probably a stupid question but how much difference does using nitrogen instead of air for tires really make?
When you're racing for real for finishing position, all of the little things matter. Think W2W down to Time Trialing and probably top-level autocrossing.

But pretty much irrelevant in street driving up to HPDE as long as you're willing to keep track of hot tire pressures and use those rather than cold pressures.

You can even use a hot pressure approach to setting your street pressures - either measure your hot pressures in normal driving when the car "feels good" and determine how many psi were gained, or take the hot pressures and assume something like a 2 - 4 psi rise.
