Other than the door sticker and dashboard at the base of windshield are there other locations with VIN numbers? I am looking for a salvage car and/or parts, and these locations aren't always available.
Unlike cars of old where you could pull back some weatherstrip or look in a fenderwell, they didn't seem to stamp VIN numbers in accessible places on sheet metal. Besides the windshield VIN and the door jam sticker, it's only stamped-in-metal on the middle of the cowl.... underneath the lip of the windshield. You'd have to remove the windshield and the adhesive to be able to read it. I'd assume it's inaccessibility is for anti-VIN tampering measures, but that likely won't help you in your salvage yard digging adventures.
