Tremec would be the way to go. There is a reason why my mechanic can swap the gearbox out in afternoon, done it so many times now its just by muscle memory. The MT82 gets really hot, often hotter then the engine. So changing oil frequently and/or adding a cooler setup is a good idea.
No the lightest, but the 15" kit is really very very good.https://lmr.com/item/LRS-32120K/mustang-ford-oe-6-piston-brake-kit-2015-2020Any weight gain you might have would be offset by the stopping power. Its so cheap that its hard to rationalize other options.
Judging that a 5.0 can get to flat plane hp numbers simply enough, I would think the added peace of mind of a cross plane would be the way to go. Does ford have a cross plane shortblock for the 5.2 since thats what they race with?
To be honest no. SRF is just set and forget it. I just change it at the start of the season. I know people who have used it for two seasons but that's a bit much. There is a reason way its so expensive per Liter! But it turns out cheaper then constant bleeding with a lesser fluid.
For the brake liquid. I would suggest you take a look at this table.https://www.lelandwest.com/brake-fluid-comparison-chart.cfm?startRow=1&SF=4&ST=2The Wet boiling point is the one to look at unless you change your brake fluid right before every event. Am a huge fan of Castrol SRF, its wet...
With the high wear in the rear pads I assume you are with traction control?? Even Sport mode will chew them up very quickly. Once I turned TC off completely in a tune, the rear pads were a once a year change.
I went through just about every oil imaginable on my five mt82's (the tranny, not the grenade). For a regular gear box then BG or amsoil woud be fine I think. For the forged Calimer internals Redline/Royal Purp etc is not recommended as its detergents reacts with the alloys. My latest...
Typically its after every 4 hours of track use. You can see that on page 16 of the 302S owners manual (just enter BOSS 302S OWNERS MANUAL in google). But it depends on your driving style and how aggressive you are etc. Since you have a 5.2XS, if you take it over 8000 rpm all the time maybe you...
Actually just checked my file and have the #300 rear spring in the car now. Would like to go softer, but with a big wing I would have a hard time looking over the hood at speed.Funny how back then the GTI was the drivers car. Nothing like a first love.
Big fan of Cortex, but for me, had to go down to #500/#350 springs to get some more grip. without a big wing, then #300 for the rear would be better. Needed the softer rear for better corner exit, probably the best performance point of the S197.
