FoxBody 1987 GT Track Car Rebuild

I'll just fast forward to tis image. Terminator X mostly wired in, just trying to figure out the 6AL with the dual sync with the T-X.The T-X I ordered was for the factory 87-93 Mustang, but there is no factory wiring left. I may have been better with the universal T-X, but I went with what...

I'm actually not sure where I left off. A lot has been done since I've last posted, but these forums seem to be dying. But like I've said in the past, the Forums are what I know and trust. The FB pages just aren't right.Lets start over here with these images.

FoxBody 1987 GT Track Car Rebuild

Sorry, it's been few Months since I posted any update.Well lets see where I left off. Like I said, this is where it gets fun. (all the small details) The factory bulkhead grommet couldn't pass the Holly connectors through, so I had to source a grommet. With some small modifications, this one...

And once the insulation in the shop started, my Holley TX showed up. That's the way it always works, right? Can't wait to get started on this.

Well while I've been waiting on parts, I figured I would do a small upgrade on the insulation in the shop. Since the new roof install and the ridge vent install, this was needed.

    FoxBody 89STANG

Welcome! It's good to see another Fox Body and it looks like since you have run at RA, you must be in the Midwest. Good to have both of those here. I'll be watching your thread.Justin

FoxBody 1987 GT Track Car Rebuild

Thank you for the advice. Since I will have the Holley TX coming one of these months, I might end up ordering a Holley Dual Sync distributor and running that. Still undecided though since this distributer has been good all of these years. (even though it looks old and tired)I really don't...

Ignition wires and heat suppression going in. Is there anything else people recommend while doing this? Just looking to reduce any unneeded downtime at the track.Thank you, Justin

Bench tested both fans. Both fans 30amps on startup, 15 amps constant. So a single 75 amp relay installed. tested and ready to go.My wife surprised me with Holley Terminator X for the engine management for my birthday, so the Mega Squirt will be put on hold. Just have to wait for the TX now.

FoxBody 1987 GT Track Car Rebuild

Just a small update on the fan and radiator install. I did order 2 new connectors off of Amazon that were identical to the ones LMR sent with their install kit. After seeing that, I was curious, so I had a friend bring one over that was a factory connector out of a Contour. It was identical to...

FoxBody 1987 GT Track Car Rebuild

Looking at a few different classes I hope to run next year, they all specify a somewhat "finished" interior. So while I'm waiting on parts, I figured I would start fitting the carpet.I still need all of the plastic interior panels though. So if anyone in or around WI has some cheap, let me...

FoxBody 1987 GT Track Car Rebuild

Test fitting the cooling fans with brackets and overflow tank, everything looked perfect. The twin fans gave me extra room around the W/P and crank pulleys. Now it was time to remove everything and prep for the wiring. This is where the small issue began. The cooling fans had a completely...

FoxBody 1987 GT Track Car Rebuild

After researching radiators, cooling fans and overflow tanks, I decided on the SVE package from LMR. I could have fixed the radiator that was in the car, but it was over 20 yrs old and I wasn't happy with the cooling fan and the overflow tank. All 3 fit, but just wasn't right. The LMR kit...

FoxBody 1987 GT Track Car Rebuild

After I got the Power steering cooler plumbed, it was time to drop the radiator back in. Unfortunately, there were issues. After the radiator install, I did a pressure test and found a leak in the radiator. Didn't leak when I pulled it in, but I didn't run it long.I was never happy with the...
