I decided to leave the brakes after seeing similar tapered wear on other Brembo calipers in newer condition. The deteriorating boots shouldn’t affect anything, but I’ll keep a close eye for any leaks in the future. Thanks for the part numbers.
I noticed tapered pad wear on the lower piston area on the driver's side of my 97 Cobra running 4 piston Brembo calipers with Carbotech XP12 pads and Girodisc 13" rotors. The dust seals are destroyed. I don't notice any leaks, but I wonder if replacing the seals will help at all. Does anyone...
I sold the dealership that gave me problems my “abused” and warranty-less car a few months ago for more than I bought it for. My track SN95 Mustang has been doing well.
It seemed to happen with over 1/2 a tank also. Nobody else seemed to get misfire codes or bent spark plugs from the starvation events. I believe I had starvation at some point, but there is likely also a tune or intake / vacuum problem also. I am looking for a different dealership that will look...
Thanks for the insight. It's odd that my 2020 gives misfire codes while others seem to just exhibit similar problems without the codes due to fuel starvation.I have several options in the Charlotte, NC area. Unfortunately, I am new to the area and Ford cars and don’t know if there is a service...
Thanks for the advice. I though I was safe at half a tank. My on-board accelerometer showed I hit peak cornering Gs of 1.06 on the stock Michelin PS4 S. I'll definitely keep that in mind. I put 10 gallons of track 93 octane in at CMP at $6.49 / gal to keep the tank around half full over the...
Thanks. The dealer tech decided to do nothing since they couldn't duplicate the misfire on a test drive on my return visit. They were happy to charge me for spark plugs on the first visit without duplicating the fault.I am also curious if the car has an aftermarket tune. I was hoping the Ford...
Is there any way that my driving style would cause this? I am driving in sport + with traction control on. There is usually minimal traction control interference that I have noticed. Have you ever seen the ground electrodes bend off center from running lean? Thanks for the input. To me, this is...
I have taken my 2020 Mustang GT PP1 on track at Carolina Motorsports Park twice now for full day HPDE events. Both days I have had flashing check engine light events where cylinders 5 and 6 severely misfire and turn off the cylinders. I scanned for codes and got misfires codes for 5 and 6 as...
