1 Track Night in America and 1 Time Trial into the season and the car is doing great! However, there was some drama leading up to and into this weekend's TT at Pitt Race. While driving back from Nelson Ledges 2 weekends ago I must have hit a... (see full post)

There is room for improvement, but I'm happy with my time considering this is my first time doing full-pace laps on any road course. Minimizing coasting seems to be what I need to focus on next.

I think part of the idea of using a little toe-out, especially for autocross, is to create increased Ackerman across the front axle - the inside tire needs to turn a tighter circle when cornering, and using static toe-out creates more of that...

A little update from this winter's shenanigans. As stated above, my main goal was to install an oil cooler for the anticipated track days and Time Trials that I want to do this year. I went with a Setrab 934 heat exchanger, Setrab thermostatic... (see full post)

Looks good! Excuse my ignorance, but is that toe-in or toe-out? Those alignment specs look the same as what I have but the alignment is toe-out.Also congrats on the house. I'm about to close on my first. (see full post)

I’ve been meaning to make a build thread on here for quite some time. A little backstory on the car. I bought my car in 2017 as a senior in high school for $1,500. I came across it in a junk car lot outside a guy’s shop in the middle of nowhere...

My buddy went from RT660s to CR-Ss on his C6Z and experienced the same thing. They worked great on track and worked well on the last autocross run, but took forever to get to temp. He would spend his first few autocross runs warming the tires and... (see full post)

Exactly. If you look at the individual lap times in the details of that GRM article, the CR-S is nearly a full second slower on its first lap than its best lap (lap 7). The RE-71RS is 0.2 sec slower on first lap from best (lap 3), and the A052...

I don't know if this is much of an update, but here is a pic of the sandwich plate with the filter removed. It looks like the bypass is opening but the oil's path of least resistance is still through the exchanger. I have reached out to Setrab... (see full post)

Are you using the cast or billet part? The billet model is only sized for AN10 fittings. I called Setrab to confirm this, and the guy I talked to explained that the cast version is needed since the fittings are spaced further apart. Here is a... (see full post)

You are on the right track, for the most part.Yes, engine oil has a higher thermal capacity and will take more energy to heat up than the engine coolant. Another reason would be because the coolant is designed to cool around the cylinders from... (see full post)

There are three things that I've taken on board over the last 20 odd years of driving performance cars:1. The engine oil temperature that matters the most is the oil temperature in the bearings that are being lubricated. Since you can't...

The temperature sender is located in the spacer above the sandwich plate, so right before it goes into the cooler. (see full post)
