  1. Boss 302 Street clutch recommendation

Several years ago I replaced the stock clutch with a Hays Dragon Claw in my 2013 Boss 302 after experiencing the sticking pedal during hard track use. Now that I am no longer tracking the car I need to revert to a more streetable clutch set up. I'd prefer to have something better than the...
  2. Clutch engagement point adjustment?

I recently had a Hays Dragonclaw clutch installed in my 2013 Boss after repeated track problems. After several months of trying to get the spacer lengths correct (more on that later) my shop finally got the clutch to function close to normal. The problem I have now is that the clutch doesn't...
  3. Hays Dragon Claw Clutch install - help needed

I'll forward your suggestion to my tranny tech. Yes, I confirmed that the PN is 96-201. Holley support says you don't need the installation gage and that all three shims are pre-installed. Does anyone have this tool so my tech can confirm the length. They put my original clutch back in and it...
  4. Hays Dragon Claw Clutch install - help needed

After reviewing several positive posts about the Hays Dragon Claw clutch I ordered one for my 2013 Boss. This was in response to the factory clutch failing on the track (pedal not coming up) and leading to trashing my tranny synchros. My service guys have not been able to get this clutch kit...
  5. Wheel bearing grease in rotor?

No, it never made it's way outside the rotor. Nothing like your photos. I'm reasonably certain that Ford wouldn't use that much anti-seize but it could be possible. The color and consistency sure looks like wheel bearing grease. I'm going to pop the caps and make sure there is plenty of lube...
  6. Hays Dragon Claw Clutch

Anyone out there using a Hays Dragon Claw clutch? I was going to order a McCleod RST when I read about the Hays. They don't seem to have the noise issue reported consistently with the McCleod. Thanks
  7. Wheel bearing grease in rotor?

It has about 26K and that includes a dozen track events. The factory stock Feredo pad wear indicator is only about 1/16" above the friction material, so that may very well be causing your squeak. That is pretty thin pad if you are braking hard and often. I replaced with Raybestos ST43 which...
  8. Wheel bearing grease in rotor?

I just swapped out the front factory brake pads on my 2013 Boss and found what looks like wheel bearing grease on the inside of the rotors around the center hole and on the face of the hubs. There was quite a bit of it so I'm assuming this isn't anti-seize from the factory. Both sides had...
  9. Pics of your Boss 302 or S197 Mustang at the track!

Re: Pics of your Boss or Mustang at the track!!!At Pacific Raceways in Kent, Washington last summer. One of the nicer photos of the car since I'm now using Road Wrap when on-track these days. It does a nice job of protecting the paint but doesn't photograph well.....

For those of you in the Seattle area:Mustangs Northwest is pleased to announce a unique guest speaker at our August 14th general meeting.Ken Dowd was an integral part of the design team at Ford in the late 60's and early 70's, working with Larry Shinoda on legendary cars such as the Boss...
  11. I think this dealer is HIGH

Just saw a '12 and a '13 at Park Place Ltd in Bellevue, WA this afternoon. They are asking $46 & $47K. Sounds like a bargain. Two for the price of one....Honestly, I'm really (and pleasantly) surprised that they have held this kind of value two years after production.
  12. Curious: How many Bosses have you seen?

15 new Boss cars at our 35th annual Mustang Roundup in Bellevue, WA yesterday. By the time I got over to them with the camera a few had already left. There are three more behind the trees. It was a great show, but it hit about 95 degrees by mid-afternoon.
  13. Screen for fog lamp delete covers

The screen is already painted black, so I didn't have to touch it. I think the cover is about 3 feet long, so you can make a bunch of screens from one piece. I used some small black zip ties to hold them in place.
  14. Screen for fog lamp delete covers

Home Depot has a nice looking expanded aluminum gutter cover that I converted into screens for the covers:It was really inexpensive and should do the job. I was intrigued by the various comments about removing the grill, so I just decided to gently pull it forward. With a little tweaking it...
  15. Jack Plate to Scissor Jack Adapter Plate

I had a similar issue with jacking while using a standard floor jack. The jack pedestal was too wide to fit on the jack point. I ended up making an adapter that fits nicely on the pinch weld rib. This might be too advanced for anyone not having some basic shop tools, but if you do this is a...
