Paid for all the track? Use all the track :)
  2. SN95 Goldie

I forgot to add the link to the video. I was about 5 seconds off my time trials pace. Considering I had my son on board, it had been 8 years, and we were on street tires I was happy with it. As far as I can tell the car was performing up to snuff, even though it's got about 30K miles more...
  3. SN95 Goldie

We just went back to Road Atlanta with Just Track It again. It was a lot of fun with great weather. My lap times were decent considering it was my first time back in 8 years. The Falken Azenis RT660's performed surprisingly well and the Raybestos ST43 / Girodisk brake combo were awesome...
  4. Which tire for an HPDE Mustang.

Another reason why Vorshlag recommends no more than 1" drop is that it screws-up the roll center. Excessively lowering the ride height lowers the roll center too much which will actually increase body roll because of the elongated roll moment. In short: That defeats what you're trying to...
  5. Has anyone tried 4.10's on a GT350?

That's what I'm thinking. I think it would wake it up even more than it already is. Also, 6th gear is pretty much unusable around town below 50 mph. A higher final gear might actually increase the mpg around town from just being able to use 6th more freely. Lol.Can't wait to hear your...
  6. Has anyone tried 4.10's on a GT350?

Agreed, I've heard each shift is 0.5 sec lost... I was thinking you could take the slow corners 1 gear higher / avoid that shift. I need more track time to ascertain that. Still surprised to see it hasn't been tried or documented.
  7. Which tire for an HPDE Mustang.

I'm a bit surprised no one mentioned the Falken Azenis RT 660's? It's a goto tire in the WRL and other endurance series and I think for good reasons. I've just tried a set on my ol' 2000GT street / track car at AMP a few weeks back and I'm very impressed. I'd say the grip level is not far...
  8. Has anyone tried 4.10's on a GT350?

I did several searches as I was expecting at least a thread or two on this but I'm not finding it. It seems that with the 3160's extra long gears and the Voodoo's ability to rev... 4.10's would improve responsiveness and better capitalize on the rev capabilities / top-end power of the engine...
  9. Race Brake Pads

You had heard opposite as in worse wear on stuff at AMP? I'm surprised. It's easy on the cars for 2 reasons: 1) We can't go very fast at AMP because it's so tight so that saves the brakes. 2) The track surface is high tech / absolutely primo, it doesn't grate the tires away and help them last a...
  10. SN95 Teach me: I need more front grip

You could try turning-in just a tad later that will help maximize corner exit speed. I know it's easier said than done on a tight autocross course. Suspension wise I would first try stiffen the rear bar as you say it's adjustable / easy. Then I would open the Toe 1/8" open and max-out the...
  11. Rear axle seals, gears, axles.

It's possible that your seals were just old you should replace the vents filters as well. But as you gain more experience you will eventually boil the diff fluid over and blow the seals again. I installed a Boss 302 finned diff cover and installed the Boss 302 "Turkey Baster" bulb that screws...
  12. SN95 Goldie

Goldie's back on track baby! I had a ball at AMP this past Friday with Justtrackit.net. The car performed flawlessly, the driver needs to get back in shape! Pictures courtesy of Travis Rhoads / Justtrackit.net
  13. Moving to GA

Charlotte is not a very far drive either, if you like rovals. I'm not a huge fan of the infield with all the off-camber corners, but it's still fun to experience the roval. Road Atlanta is not such a monster if you're reasonable / know your limits. It's a very flowing track with (Mostly)...
  14. Four Link + Panhard Bar- Thoughts

I wanted an MM 3 link but I was out of TT points / did not want to move the the next class. So, I have the 4 link with and MM Panhard bar, MM HD / spherical bearing / adjustable LCA's, Steeda Uppers (The ones with the dual durometer bushings as the upgraded Ford uppers have become unobtanium /...
  15. Race Brake Pads

I ran the Raybestos ST43's at Atlanta Motorsports Park this past Friday (With JustTrackit.net) I was very impressed. Good strong bite, fairly wide modulation sweet spot, minimal wear, and reasonable temps with the duct fans on. Of course, AMP is easy on consumables, . We'll see how they fare...
