Honestly it was a bit of a cost/vanity choice. This was actually my good buddy's wing that was on his car when he sold it two years ago so I was able to have it delivered to my door for only $1,500. The Verus wing is also the cleanest install of all of the units I looked at and comes with the all important dog bones.

A wing from 9 Lives Racing would have given more downforce, but I just couldn't deal with the fact that they couldn't be bothered to design it to use or even cover any of the stock holes on the trunklid and didn't want to spend hundreds having all the holes filled and then repainted. Shame too as they're literally right in my backyard here north of Atlanta.

Same issue with the AJ Hartman wings with their massive center mount configuration and they're far more expensive as well.

Archetype makes nice looking wings that use the factory mounting location, but won't release any data on their actual functionality and they may be some of the priciest wings out there.

APR's wings mount clean, but I had consistently heard from many that their wing profile was less than ideal and they also don't offer any data to contradict that.
Fair reasoning. Verus definitely know what they're doing as well. I just wish their wing was a bit larger.

Agreed. I'd asked them about adding a gurney flap to their wing and they say that their testing doesn't show any improvement (which seems odd given that they seem to work on every other wing profile) and I also asked them about a dual element option such as what Nine Lives offers and they only offered me one of their monster $7,000 wings which don't utilize any stock mounting locations. Per their charts it's slightly better than the Nine Lives at 140mph and 10 degrees AOA with the Verus offering just over 400lbs and the Nine Lives coming in at just under 400lbs.

Once you add the gurney or the dual element kit though the Nine Lives takes a step ahead offering up to 500+. I'll be running the Verus in it's most aggressive 15 degree setting which should net me around 100lbs of downforce at 60mph which should keep me on par with what I could have achieved with even the Nine Lives dual element configuration or 3/4" gurney flap.

Good stuff! Well congrats on the wing.
The 90's kid in me who played far too much Need for Speed thinks every car should have a giant wing 😆

I was always more of a fan of the Carrera RS duckbill spoiler or similar on street cars, but once you get far enough into the "race car" look that you've got vented hoods, massive splitters, diffusers, etc..., then you get into the zone where a big wing is needed.

New tires for the season.

Moving from the 305/30-19 Kumho V730 to a 295/35-19 Yokohama A052. Will be interesting as this will be the first time my primary competitor locally will be on the same tires and sizing as I am.

Did a little detail work today. Fellas, if your wife is one of the many out there that's purchased one of those Cricut machines that makes little stickers and arts and crafts, turns out you can use it to decorate your racecar pretty easily. My neighbor's wife across the street had one so had her show me the process and she let me make these end plate decals that were inspired by the S550 GT4 mustang. Luckily 3M makes a vinyl that is a pretty good match in the sunlight. Due the metallic nature of the paint you have to compare the color on the side of the car rather than the top to get a better idea of how well it blends.

Stopped by to see my buddy Kris today who just upgraded his setup for his GT500 and picked up the last of the off-season upgrades for the car. Install was pretty easy, although it would have been even easier if I didn't put the wrong buckle in the wrong place at first. Did hurt a little bit to have to trim the plastics on the ground level, but it's part of playing racecar and no one ever goes into the backseat anyway.

Which schroth seat harness is this? I did realized they offered one that mounted to the factory buckle. How does it mount in the rear?

Seriously jealous of that wing set-up as well. Fit and finish seems perfect.

This is the Schroth Quickfit pro for 2018+ mustangs. They changes the buckles in the Gen2 cars slightly so there's a 2015-2018 set of harnesses too. Both connections on the perimeter of the car utilize the floor mount for the factory belts. You just remove the bolt that anchors the factory belt to the floor, slide the eyelet underneath, and bolt it back down. You then have a two additional receivers on that side of the car that the left side of the harness clips into. You can see the two eyelets on the right side of this image from their site.

I had that Scroth Quickfit pro in my '16 when I had Recaros in it. It worked pretty good with that setup and allowed keeping the stock belts to keep it road legal, it certainly is way better than a 3 point stock belt.
But then I went to full racing shell seats to lose some more weight (and bring in some cash for the Recaros, it's crazy what people will pay for those seats!!) and the Scroth belt would not work with a full racing seat. Ended up putting a roll bar in and 6 point racing harness which was much better on track. And that took it another step closer to being a track only car, which was not really what I intended when that saga started......It's crazy how these things just grow and grow and grow. You've been warned!!:)

I am fully aware. I was all set to struggle through another year with the 3 points, but my buddy upgraded his GT500 to a watson bolt in roll bar and harnesses so sold me this 1 year old harness for less than half price. Too good of a deal to pass up and will still work great for autocross. Only downside is that the central latch is too big to fit through the stock Recaro harness slots so I can't leave the rear of the harness latched and instead have to fish everything around and through the slots to get it in and out. Truly first world problems, but it would be nice to leave that rear side latch in place as it's kind of sandwiched down by the rear bottom seat cushion.

Do you wear a hans with that? Not sure I would get something like that if you could not wear a Hans. However if you are auto cross maybe that would be ok as a major impact is not as likely.
The pro is specifically designed to work with a Hans if you'd like, but as you identified though, with just using it for autocross it's not likely to ever have a severe impact posing a concern.

It also has some crash mitigation system built into it allowing the shoulder to rotate like a 3 point belt. Also by using the factory harness plug it still let's the car use all the factory safety mechanisms. Worth a watch on their site.

That is some pretty slick stuff.
