SPEEDiagnostix / OPMustang Coyote Specific Oil Sample Kits

This site may earn a commission from merchant affiliate links, including eBay, Amazon, and others.

We have teamed up with Lake Speed Jr. at SPEEDiagnostix for our Oil Sampling. We have been involved with oil sampling for 20 years and have always tried to convince Customers to sample their driveline fluids rather than guessing or having a failure that could have been prevented.

Lake, The Motor Oil Geek on Youtube, personally was involved in many of the oil formulations we all use today. When you sample with SPEEDiagnostix, you have a Certified Lubrication Specialist and Tribologist reviewing your oil sample results. Lake grew up in Racing, worked for Melling, Joe Gibbs Racing and is currently at Total Seal Piston Rings. SPEEDiagnostix gives you real data and unlike some oil sample competitors they will tell you if something may be going wrong, so you have time to resolve it.

The issue with most oil sample kits is unless you like crawling under your car and having hot oil running down your arm, oil sampling is not always the best experience. The method of using an oil sample pump and disposable sample tubing eliminates the mess and can be done in about 2 minutes through the dipstick tube. Many late model vehicles, have switched to a very small dipstick tube, including the Coyote based engines.

All of Our OPMustang SPEEDiagnostix Sample Kits include a reduced diameter sample hose at the correct length to fit the smaller dipstick tubes on the Coyote allowing fast, spill free sampling from under the hood.

We offer Complete Starter kits with the pump, sample bottle, disposable sample tubing, a prepaid mailer and full instructions. You can also order our Starter Kit with 3 sample bottles which allows you to sample the old oil, send a sample of fresh new oil going in and then send a follow up sample at a later date, or after a track event to verify the condition of your engine.

We offer replacement sample bottles as well, choose as many as you want. If you already have an oil sample pump, our replacement sample kits are compatible with most pumps on the market. Replacement Sample Bottles do not include the Pre-Paid Mailer, you can just ship it in a Small Flat Rate USPS Box.

Once you have taken your samples, you can quickly register them via the included QR Code or at SPEEDiagnostix.com. We do not receive your sample data, we only supply the sample kits.
With the ever rising cost of Engine Oil, the catastrophic cost of Coyote engine failures, regular oil sampling can save you thousands of dollars in added expense.

Regular oil sampling also is a tool to determine what type of oil you should run based on the trend analysis of regular oil sampling. You can also sample Transmission and Differential Fluids and establish trend data for your total driveline.

Looks like a great option for those who don't change oil after only a couple hours of run time. Love ingenuity on the extraction method.

@OPMustang Tim - just for clarity, looks like the ongoing oil sample cost is $49 per test, correct? and one more - any idea on average time to get results back?

Huge fan of sampling - it's actually how I discovered something was up in my last motor. AL content started going up, so I pulled it and disassembled. Caught it before it grenaded and wrecked everything. New oil pan, crank and cams and we were good to good.

Its about a week for normal service. This is just based on my saved emails of registering the samples, then having the reports, not actually when I mailed them (which could be the same day or a few days after) The lab is in OHIO, so Priority Mail varies region to region.
Yes, roughly that is the cost for the test and results. We can provide a label ( the pre-paid ones do expire after a while because USPS recycles numbers) if you have a bunch done and ordered the kits from us.

Once you register a engine/car, you can always reference back to the previous sample # when submitting a new sample so you always have the trend analysis. Helpful on motor changes or oil type changes.

Hi Tim

Might be a dumb question but always better to be safe than sorry. The kit looks great and I will be getting one with the three test bottles. That said, the kit is under 2015-2023. There would be no issue In using this kit on a 2013 Gen 1 Roadrunner or is that a different part number?

Our Kit will fit anything, the issues is the late model tiny dipstick tubes Ford uses. The industry standard pumps are sized for the conventionally sized tubing so we have to sleeve the smaller hose to make it work.

This all came about when I went to sample my oil. I run the BG system which uses a flush additive prior to the oil change, I wanted to sample the oil prior to adding the flush but could not draw a sample from above so the reason for this kit. I spoke to Lake about it and he was onboard so our kits now exist lol. Again, coming from 2 decades on the industrial side were I sampled fluids on a weekly schedule, trying to get Customers on the Automotive side to understand the usefulness of this tool is challenging. Dumping perfectly good oil after every event is standard practice, that's getting expensive and still tells you nothing about what is really going on inside.

Lake is also going to have some new services available in the future that will further separate SPEEDiagnostix from the rest on what we can test. It will be very 'enlightening'....

Love this idea, especially not having to get the sample form underneath. I've used Blackstone Labs in the past on my everyday driver. How does your report compare to something like theirs? Maybe you could post a sample report on here from yours or another customers Mustang to get an idea?

Thanks!
