Thanks!I just had my buddy drive it yesterday afternoon. He has extensive experience with both F-bodies and SN95's with this similar set up. He mentioned similar points as you. So I feel better about it now.As always, I appreciate your input!
Since installing my suspension components, there is a lot more noise and vibration coming from my drivetrain. Here are the things I'm noticing.1. Shifting. When shifting, I hear and feel it. Especially when it's fast, the slower I go the less noise and less clunk it makes.
2. Vibration...
I’ve attached everything below. The max grip box is what I ordered. Mike (at MM) did not recommend sway bars. Im
Just using stock sway bars. The only things that were not installed for this event were subframe connectors, torque arm and chassis brace (not MM, from Stifflers)Spring rates were...
Thanks for the words of encouragement! They were definitely cold, so valuable lesson learned on that.I didn't mean to sound so self deprecating. This is essentially a brand new car I'm dealing with, so I know in time I'll get more use to it.Thanks!
So it went rather well last weekend. It's a completely different car. Night and day. A couple of notes off the top off the top of my head...1. A LOT of over-steer. Now, when I say "A LOT", it's completely relative. The stock suspension on this car was loose and shitty with no adjustments...
I just got back from my maiden voyage. It was great! Didn’t notice much rubbing outside of a tiny bit when I was turning right. Can’t wait to get it truly complete!
Thanks for the input. I'm going to adjust the control arms to be parallel like you said. Someone in another forum said the same thing. I wasn't thinking about a specific measurement, just wasn't sure exactly how to ask how low/high to make the car. What modification did you do to the washer...
So 3 months into it now, I’m about 90% done! What I ordered was a complete maximum grip box with everything except for the rear sway-bar option. The only thing lift are these items.
- Subframe connectors
- Web Brace (from Stifflers)
- Torque Arm
- Set Bump Steer
- AlignmentHoping to get it...
Got the clutch cable changed out, and I love love love driving this thing after the tune. Blankenship did a great job tuning it. It's only 273 hp/299 tq but it has a broad powerband and makes up to 250 hp up to just past 6500 RPM.And also! My max grip package is about to get in, so this...
The clutch was replaced before I bought it. The previous owner had receipts for it.Hahaha, thanks for the tips. I honestly think I'll just remove the seat to make it even easier.
The saga continues!!!Just picked up my car from the tuner (3 hours away) and a mile down the road this happens.Luckily the 200+ Miles was mostly highway and I was able to rev match.I have found a couple videos/how-to’s on clutch cable installs. Any one here have any hints/tips/tricks from...
Timing chain and tensioners - check!
Cams installed - check!
Cobra front brakes with stainless lines - check! Now I just need to get her tuned... Hopefully dropping it off with Lee Blankeship in the next couple weeks. On order I currently have a rear cobra brake kit, battery relocation and MM...
100% logical! Haha!Mine is our Southwest Credit Card. My goal is that my purchases will lead to free flights for our travel... I get car parts, she gets free flights! Win-win right?
Well, the works have been ordered and now we start the waiting process.First is the timing chain/tensioners with cams followed by a proper tune. I'm hoping to get that done within the next month or two. Then as soon as everything gets in from MM, a near complete suspension overhaul...
Thanks for the input. I think I understand some of what you are saying but as stated by PatientZero I am in an SN95. A mostly stock SN95 at that, so not only am I at about half the power you are, your suspension set up is way more advance than mine.I appreciate you chiming in though, always...
