I grew up with an interest in cars. I had nitro R/C cars as a kid and was always playing with small engines. When I was old enough, I started working on the family cars, just doing simple things like brake jobs, and oil changes. Then after I graduated high school, I got my first Mustang and...
I know we don't have many drag racers here, but for anyone interested, I would like to extend the invite to Chicagoland Mustang Club's track rental at Great Lakes Dragaway in Union Grove, WI on Friday, September 24th. The track rental is from 10 am to 5 pm. Car count is expected to be about...
If it is an HPDE toy, the Mustang is plenty capable. My car is mostly stock, but I still feel I haven't been able to utilize the car to its fullest potential yet. It's a lot of car. Stock for stock a C7 will be a better performer, but a good driver in a Boss 302 will be able to hang with an...
Aside from brakes and tires being first and foremost, consider some suspension upgrades as well. With more tire grip and more braking power, the front end will want to nose dive under heavy braking. This can make the rear end light and you will actually feel the tail of the car wagging. If...
I have a NecksGen Rev that I use for drag racing and I like it. It didn't take very long at all to get used to. I haven't worn any other head and neck restraint device to compare to. I can't comment on effectiveness in a crash because thankfully I haven't tested that aspect. The NecksGen can be...
I'm still getting recall notices for my '06 Mustang that I traded in to my local Ford dealer in 2013 to buy my Boss 302. On paper, I'm the last owner of the car. When I pull a Car Fax, there is no history of ownership after I sold it to the dealer. I have no idea what happened to it after I...
Will do! I was trying to get a handful of Mustangs out to Blackhawk this past Wednesday. I had 3 other Mustangs and a friend with his Porsche there. It would be fun to have even more!Autobahn is on my to do list. I need to replace my stock clutch before anymore track days. It was acting up...
I'm in the south suburbs. I'm just getting into HPDE. I've only run at Blackhawk Farms so far. Yesterday was my second time there.Otherwise I take my fox body to Byron or Great Lakes Dragway. Here's a video from yesterday at Blackhawk.
I've had an Atlas 9kBP 2 post in my garage for about 7 years now. It gets used a lot. I've had a car on it for at least 75% of the time that I've owned it. It works great and I've had no issues at all. The only thing I've had to replace was a leaky fitting, but that was install error on my part...
Thanks for the follow up! Just wanted to make sure ABS still worked. The flashing light made me a little nervous lol. I'm otherwise fine with Advance Trac and traction control being disabled. Can't wait to get out on the track this week!
Bumping an old thread. I just uploaded my AED Road Race tune for the first time. I'm getting the service advancetrac message and the T/C and advancetrac lights are on. I'm also getting a flashing ABS light. Does AED's road race tune disable ABS also?
Re: F/S: Enkei PF01 18x9.5 blackAhhh! I need to look at these forums more often lol! Nice looking set of wheels and a good price! I'll be on the lookout for some 18s as spring gets a little closer. I'm sick of paying a premium for 19" tires.
I haven't personally used one, but I've heard good things about the Autel Maxidashttp://www.harborfreight.com/automotive-motorcycle/diagnostics/autel-maxidas-automotive-diagnostic-and-analysis-system-62385.html
I tried my best not to impulse buy anything on Cyber Monday, but I couldn't resist. I had a small list of things needed for my fox body before spring so I figured I may as well pull the trigger and save a few bucks now. When it comes to Christmas shopping for family and friends, I'm usually a...
