I'm chasing a random misfire problem on my 2011 Mustang GT and was trying to replace the oem engine harness, which is known to be problematic, with this Ford Performance upgraded harness: https://performanceparts.ford.com/part/M-12508-M50. I ordered it successfully 2 weeks ago but unfortunately I just got notice that the part is now discontinued and my order was cancelled. I can't find it online.

I was hoping to install the FP harness together with these upgraded VCT solenoids, which I have: https://performanceparts.ford.com/part/M-6297-M50A. (Edit, sorry I had the wrong link) These upgraded solenoids won't work with my 2011 harness (which I suspect is failing anyhow) and require a 2012+ engine harness.

Does anyone know where I might find the discontinued FP harness? Alternatively, does anyone know if a 2012-2014 engine harness will fit on my 2011 and allow the use of the upgraded solenoids?

The oem 2011 engine harness appears to be discontinued as well.

Thank you very much for any help or suggestions.

It looks like PBH has some of these: https://pbhperformance.com/product/gen-1-engine-harness/

Pretty sure that the 2012+ harness will work and without having to re-pin anything, but not 100% sure. I think it'll link up with the body harness fine, and I doubt there's any (other) connectivity differences between the 2011 gen1 coyote vs the 2012+ gen1 coyote but not 100% sure.

I was unaware of this solenoid difference. Will have to read about it.

@stevbd, double check on that part number. It's confusing figuring out which is which!
I think I had the wrong one in the other post, and I think this is the right one... but double-check it.

LMR has this as well...

... and AM

Pretty sure this is the one...

Thanks to @BackInBlack I got my hands on this discontinued engine wiring harness from Power by the Hour: https://performanceparts.ford.com/part/M-12508-M50

Everything looks good except I am noticing there are a couple of what look like ground straps on this new harness that aren't on my OEM 2011 GT (man transmission) harness. The first one is up near the main ECU plug and the second one comes off the harness at the same point as the lead for the throttle body. Does anyone have any experience with installing one of these harnesses on a 2011? Are these in fact ground straps? Any danger in finding a place to ground them?

Everything on my engine, tune, and electronics is 100 percent oem stock for 2011 btw.

Thank you.

EDIT - answering my own question for anyone who might be doing this project in the future, I made some calls and was told these two eyelets are indeed ground straps, the first should be grounded to the radiator support or other convenient chassis point in that area and the second should be attached to a timing cover bolt. These grounds don't exist on the original '11-12 harness.
