We can rebuild him. We have the technology. We can make him better than he was. Better...stronger...faster........

Since you live California I would guess no. It all went to rent and taxes.
As a matter of fact, I just paid another $11,000.00 yesterday....it never stops.

What?? No 6 million dollars?? :(

All kidding aside, hope the heads are ok and that you can salvage as much as possible. My cars is in a work related coma at the moment, but it still wants to know what happened to its engine twin.

Stay tuned.

Taxes hurt no matter where you are.........some places more than others...........Taxes are guaranteed like the other alternative......I'll just pay them and be done with it......They're always talking about getting rid of the car tax here in Ct...........but nobody wants to hear about the plan to replace it...........I wonder why?????????............$$$$$$$$$$$$....I gotta close this can of beans/worms before it gains any momentum..............This forum is about speed, not greed......................

That’s 11,000.00 in taxes plus 10,000.00 in rent.

Sorry to see the engine failure, but glad to see progress.
In Florida we have no state income tax, homestead exemption, and generally low taxes ( my 2.5 acres, house and garages are about $1200 per year). The problem is all the people that are moving here, they still vote like they are in New York, Illinois or some other dump. We have to beat it into their heads, you are refugees, not missionaries!!
The Villages is putting up 50K more houses this year in what was prime cattle country, almost all of them are from liberal states.
That's one reason Kohr moved here, they are a race business, and in the southeast we race all 52 weekends, no time off, so there is a lot of businesses moving here. Plus, our state doesn't shut down.
People point out that our economic growth is slower in Florida, yeah, it's because it is actual economic growth, not rebuilding from some shutdown.
The population here is almost a mirror image of New York, in both amount and age demographics, and we faired waayy better during Covid.

I don’t know how anyone makes ends meet with that kind of cost structure. I hope you get alot of services to help make up for the high taxes.
It getting harder and harder.
When I opened way back in the day my labor rate was 40.00/hr. and I had plenty of money to race all over the country. Today it’s 160.00. And I can barely afford to race 2 hours away. My gross is way up but my profit is in the toilet. In the last few years I went from “got rocks” to “ kick rocks”. :(

Move to Florida, I'll move my crap out of my garage, you can stay in my apartment until you get a place. I would recomend a " taxpayer" arrangement where you live in the same place you work, great tax benefits. A buddy just built a 50x100 metal building, garages, living space etc etc on 5 acres.
I can't make you a better offer.

Retirement is a blessing not everyone gets to enjoy......many die younger and some simply can't afford to leave their job, but still getting out at 97 and enjoying 11 minutes is not my idea of what retirement should be...........my Dad enjoyed over 25 yrs and I'm going on 9............Sal, get out while you can.............................
