On the other hand, I didn't let out any air between races. Only running 4 sessions a day is much easier than the 6 I used to run when it was 4 + 2 TT. Now the tires come back down to the right pressures before each session/race.

And I really wanted to take my cold pressures/temps at the end of the day, but after playing Mustang Tetris to get everything back in the car...
After session 3, I dropped the pressures:blacksheep-1 said:Ok a couple of questions, what was the starting temp (ambient) and the starting (cold) pressures?
Also in session #4 how many pounds did you take out of the tires? If you don't have those numbers, what were they after they cooled down? They should match the starting cold temps plus or minus any pressure changes made.
As an example
Start: 35psi - 2 psi (session #2) - "x" (session #4) = starting pressure when cold.
Try not to think of pressure as an absolute, as long as you stay within the manufacturer's recommendation, just add or subtract it during the day like you did in session 3. Then when the tires return to ambient ( same as starting pressure) you should now have anew starting baseline pressure.
Credit Drew for that term! I'm just a copy cat.LOL, Mustang Tetris... I'm going to be using that one

-1.5, -1.0
-1.5, 0.0
To get to the 38 hot front and 36 hot rears.
I don't have the cold temps either before or after. Wish I did for this data, but I usually set my street pressures 'warm' after I drive around for a bit. Usually in the 100-110 degree range 39 front and 35 rear. Cold temps here are so unreliable with one side of the car in the sun and one in the shade. There's often a 20 to 30 degree difference right there.

LF is 39.5 @ 133, 41 @ 139, (-2) 39.5@132, (-1.5) 39.0. @151
RF is 38.9 @ 134, 41 @ 149, (-2) 39 @ 146, (-1.0) , 41 @ 169
LR is 37 @ 135, 37.9 @ 120, (-1) 37.5 @ 128, (-1.5) 38.2 @ 149
RR is 36 @ 129, 37.9 @ 129, (-1) 36 @ 122, (-0.0) 38.2 @ 153
Now some of those numbers don't make sense, but that's not completely uncommon. have you built a graph of this yet? It should clear things up. The BOLD numbers are completely verifiable by being within 1 PSI or 1 degree of my numbers for the same size tire. Keep in mind you can string those numbers together on your graph, so you are actually accumulating data X4. (as long as they are the same size or similar) So I see 7 verifiable numbers to start your psi/temp graph.
Grant 302 said:*Bing* Well, the light just came on how powerful this data can be...especially for guys who want a track specific pressure profile...and don't want to dick around for the first session or two figuring out what pressures to set. I'm just glad that this thread has gotten me to start a log book and writing things down. Keeping things straight in your head only gets harder as you get older...
