Re: What did you do to your boss today?

I'll have to modify the question...to... "What did you do to your Boss this WEEK" As I was working on it off and on during the week & weekend.

I started with the painted rear calipers I took off about a month ago. Those were reinstalled along with a new set of DBA 4000 rear disc. I also installed the rear ARP wheel studs. The Good ridge brake line set I ordered about 3 months ago, has now been canceled due to indefinite back order, so I will just go ahead and re-install the factory brake hoses.
Previous to this weekends effort, I installed the White-Line Watts Link and my rear end support truss. The White-line HD Swaybar I bought, will not mount up with the axle truss installed, so that's not going on (anyone need a new rear sway bar?) . I did re-pain the stock sway bar, the same silver color as White-line's stuff, and re-installed it, along with one of there sway bar link locater's.
Topped off the rear-end with Amsoil Gear Oil, and used a gasket this time on the diff cover, so far it looks to be leak proof (about 3-4 weeks with fluid).

The front Brembo brake calipers, that I also painted, were installed, and I also installed new ARP wheel studs up front. Also, the stock brake hoses had to go back on, for now anyway. I have been on back order for about the last 4-5 months for a set of DBA 5000 series front disc, so for now the stock ones will go back on, till they come in. (if ever) I did get my Hurst Line-Lock installed also. It mounted up very nice and looks out of the way, but nicely done. For now I simply poked the wires inside the cabin, as I have to route them to the activation switch, which is not here yet. Also, I did install all 6- stainless steel self bleeders on the calipers, so when we go to bleed the brake system, it should not be that bad.

Lately, I have been working on constructing a Jacking Rail/Frame Support. It took a little time to mock up and think it through, but I now have a wonderful way to jack-up the car or better yet, use the 2-post lift to lift the car....all without damage to the car or having to have another person help align the lifting pads. I supported the entire length of the rocker panel area, from rear LCA area to front frame section mounting spot. I was able to use the 3-threaded bungs that are in the back rocker area, and Tied the main support into one of the front clip mounting bolts. Then I welded some additional pieces to spread-out the load over a wider area, and some mounts that make-up the lifting points. I even had a few decals made, that have the arrow with " Lift Here" on them. Should look different? Since the lifting rails were the last thing I worked on, I still have to paint and do the final mounting. That should happen this weekend. The part I like about using my own design, is I did not have to cut, modify, remove anything from the bottom of the car. Every frame connector I looked at had from 1 or 2 to 4-6 modifications you had to make, I did not like that, so I made my own. They tuck up very close to the body, and can not be seen from the street, except for the lifting pads themselves, you can see those, but they do not hang down as far as the rest of the factory chassis.

One other bright note: i did finally get my parts back from the painter. I ordered a list of new parts from Ford (Tasca Ford), and had them painted to match the factory color (SBY), then hydro-dipped with a carbon-fiber pattern. The job turned out beautifully, and I am excited to install everything. But that may be a while.

The parts we got were as follows:
1. Boss LS Front Spoiler & hardware kit W/Rear brace
2. GT 500 Rear Wing Assembly W/gurney flap
3. R & L Mirror Covers
4. R & L Hood Vent trim
5. R & L Door trim
6. R & L Lock Trim
7. radiator Splash Shield, Top Section
8. Radiator Over-Flow Tank
9. R & L Door Panel trim
10.Boss Strut Tower Brace
11.Boss Grill Trim Ring
13.Boss Grill
14 Boss Coil Covers, FR
15.Fuse Panel Lid

We also had a Front Cover, Both R & L Valve Covers and an Intake done the same way for a 4-Valve 5.0L engine we are building.

Before we can install most of the pieces, I have to take the front off the car and that will take some time. Since I only want to do this one time, I will install the White-Line front adjustable Sway Bar then. We also have a upper middle fog light kit going in, and a lower fog light kit to install/wire. I have the fog lights on the upper kit (large big round fog lights) tinted yellow, with the traditional smoke look on the bottom ones. So we have lots of work ahead...plus I ordered in the inside Lighting kit from ford, this allows you to place LED's in both foot wells and around the dash, and be able to change color, dim the lights. So that and lighted sill plates have to go in yet, as well.
I'll get the car back on it's tires my this weekend...and slowly install the other parts as time becomes available

Re: What did you do to your boss today?

Picked mine up from the Ford Dealer body shop. Looks like new!

Celebrated by terrorizing the roads of Southern California for the last couple hours.

Pulled out the clutch "helper" spring. Didn't like it, put it back.

Tried the shocks on 3 setting. The wife didn't like it. Left it anyways. :)
