Just treat them as German traffic cones!! Well, actually I have found the E46 M3 cars to be faster then the torque less E90 M3's
You know how it is with them foreigners....they all look alike to me. :p

Got sidelined with a bad alternator.

Closest one was down the street from my shop 2 hours away, so we made the mad dash to Livermore Ford, bought a $500 alternator, ran it back here and got it installed just as the Sun was going down. It runs and it’s charging. There WILL be racing tomorrow. Too bad we missed out on so much testing today.

I don't mean to make light of your situation. I distinctly recall the first days of me finding a Mustang forum many years ago (mustangforums.com if I recall), and the most common issue was the alternator going bad. Just made me chuckle because if you're still on the stock alternator you might be the longest running stock alternator in 1st Gen S197 history.

Totally tongue in cheek, that actually sucks and I hope tomorrow goes smoothly.

The 3 valve stuff is long gone on this thing.
I have a gen 2 coyote with a 95 amp boss 302 alternator.
I had to replace it with a 175 amp 2015 Mustang GT alternator because that’s all that was available. More amps means it takes more hp to spin so this will cost me a little bit in parasitic drag but it was this or go home so it’s going to have to do.

Pick up a Boss 302 alternator kit and keep this new one as a spare after this weekend. The Boss unit is designed to handle the higher RPM’s. The whole kit is $330 and includes a new tensioner and belt.

Yup that’s exactly what I had. Unfortunately no one had one. I’ll order one from American muscle Monday.

Had to fight my way through the field to get a clean lap, but there’s my personal best 1:35.912
That’s good for a front row start. (next to a trans am car)

If you just need the Boss alternator and the rest of the kit is ok, the part number is CR3Z-10346-A

Ask me how I know... My alternator died today on the way home... I think our two cars are now synced as twins!
